Today is the last day of the year 2020. Unlike other years this was a year spent in anxiety and fear of a deadly virus, spent wearing a mask.
The year started in a normal way. We had no inkling of the pandemic that was raging in china. But by february news spread that there was something wrong with the flu raging in Wuhan China . In march came the lockdown that was sudden . Thousands of migrants lost their jobs and became homeless. Many died in their journey home.
Then we banged Thali,did clapping, lit lamps and thought that this was a passing event.
But the virus has persisted and has killed lakhs of people all over the world. And now a new strain of the virus has arrived...
So the year 2021 begins on an apprehensive note. Let us hope that the vaccines developed to stop this virus proves effective.
